One of the world’s hottest chillies. It was ranked by Guinness World records on the Scoville Heat Scale (SHU) tipping in at an AVERAGE 1,569,300 SHU (now updated to 1,641,183) and a top heat over 2,200,000 SHU. For those who are not familiar with SHU – that is between 300 – 400 times hotter than a Jalapeño. The previous World Record holder – the Trinidad Scorpion ButchT had a top SHU of 1,463,700. Besides the heat, which is as hot as it gets… it has a wicked look. It’s lumpy, it’s bumpy… it has a tail and just looks mean never mind being dangerously hot! Flavour-wise, these chillies are fruity, sweet with hints of cinnamon and undertones of chocolate… beautiful, mind-blowingly hot and tasty… a must for all chilliheads in my books! They are good growers, but like heat during the seedling stage. This plants will grow to about 1,5m in height and yield loads of the world’s hottest chillies. Really a very very very little goes a loooong way!

    Growing Notes:
There are various ways to germinate seeds. You can use the moist paper towel method, germinate in trays indoors or sow directly in pots. However, it is a good idea to start seeds indoors in small pots or germination trays. Keep the medium moist during germination and if you can maintain a warm consistent temperature it will be beneficial. You can soak seeds for about 12-24 hours to soften the seeds. It is common to soak seeds in a weak Hydrogen peroxide or weak chamomile tea solution. Do not sow seeds too deep. Be patient as some hotter varieties can take weeks to germinate. After seeds sprout and a few leaves have formed, you can start to transplant and move outdoors when temperatures become warmer. Peppers love rich soil, so adding compost to the garden or potting mix is highly recommended.Ba cautious when handling these hot peppers. Where gloves when handling frequently. Do not touch your eyes or other vulnerable parts of the body after working with these peppers.
